Banner Birthday Card

Know someone with a birthday on the horizon? Help them celebrate their banner year with this festive birthday card!
For this project you will need:

Supplies:

Blank pink card or 8.5" x 5.5" pink card stock folded in half

5.5" length of scalloped paper border

String or baker's twine

Washi tape in varying patterns and widths

Tools:

Scissors

Glue

Ruler

Ink pad

Sentiment stamp

This card is darling, and it's also very easy to make. Grab some of your favorite Washi tapes and a few other card making supplies, and let's get started! Adhere a piece of scalloped page border along the bottom of the card.  You can also use a patterned piece of card stock cut along the top edge with decorative scissors or pinking shears if you don't have any matching pre-cut paper crafting boarders on hand.  Next cut a 10" length of string or baker's twine and tie two small bows about five inches apart.
Next we're going to decorate the banner. Use materials that match the theme of your card. I've used this one as a birthday card, but you could easily use it for New Year's, Anniversaries, Graduations, Mother's or Father's Day, Grandparent's day or a variety of other occasions.

Cut a strip washi tape approximately 3" long.  Fold it over the twine and adhere to itself.  If you want, you can cut a small notch out of the bottom. Or cut the end off with your decorative edged craft scissors. Repeat with four more pieces of tape to finish creating your banner.
Glue the two bows to the sides of the card and center your sentiment stamp above it. Since the Washi Tape does most of the work, this card literally only takes a couple of minutes to throw together! Be sure to bookmark or Pin this page for later -- It will come in handy time and time again, and just by using different decorative tapes, matching papers and different sentiments, you can create a completely unique each time!
