The Digital Crafter's
Online Course
Learn how to work with and create digital files for crafts -- plus how to use them to make handmade things!
SVG and EPS files, and the personal machines to cut them out have revolutionized the way crafters create.
In this section, I'll show you a few ways that you can USE cut files, as well as how to DESIGN your own.
You'll be able to use these skills to make an infinite amount of designs and traditional crafts!
Here are all the things we'll be using in this section.
Personal cutting machine:Here's my personal favorite. It's inexpensive, dependable, and can cut over 100 different materials. Click here to read more about it. I'll be using this cutting machine for all of my craft projects in this course.
Adobe Illustrator software: You'll need a powerful software program to create your own cut files. While there are some free options out there (Inkscape is my favorite free program) the tools and capabilities that come with Illustrator will save you frustration, and hours of work. If you're new to using Adobe programs, you may even be eligible for a free trial. Click here to pop over to their website and check out their monthly and annual plans.
UGEE M708 Design Tablet: Using a design tablet will save you HOURS of time and frustration when you're creating your designs. Instead of clicking and creating shapes with a mouse, it allows you to draw with a stylus, and feels link a pen on paper! This UGEE M708 Design Tablet is the one that I've used for over 6 years now, and I still absolutely Love it! (And it's way cheaper than you might expect!)
